Dr. Visal Nga was born in Battambang, Cambodia. He and his family fled Cambodia to live in a refugee camp in Thailand from 1984-88. They settled in Stockton, CA after arriving in the United States. He received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering (biomedical option) at the University of California, Los Angeles. He went on to obtain his Doctor of Osteopathy Medicine (D.O.) from Touro University – Nevada. Dr. Nga moved to Long Beach where he completed his Internal Medicine training in June 2011 and served as Chief Resident from July 2011 – June 2012 at St. Mary Medical Center.
In his spare time, Dr. Nga enjoys working out with friends, playing racquetball, honing his fledgling photography skills and exploring the local cuisine. He is very active with the Cambodian community and currently serves on the Board of Director for Cambodian Health Professionals Association of America (CHPAA) in which he participated in its first medical mission in 2011 and also in 2012.
Dr. Nga practices the entire scope of modern medicine, bringing a patient-centered, holistic, hands-on approach to diagnosing and treating illness and injury. Dr. Nga believes in a partnership with patients to help them achieve a high level of wellness by focusing on health education, injury prevention, and disease prevention.
